Google posted some days ago that they plan to cancel the Google Wave service leaving many parts of the code from the project available as open source.
I’ve heard about it a lot, then received an invitation 2 years ago on Google Developer Day, tried it, found useful and I’m waiting since then until Google enables the service inside Google Apps for Business, because that’s IMHO where it should be used instead of gmailing and gtalking.
Well it’s available for some time in Premier Edition, but that’s probably not for masses. Definitely not for me and my company, so the question is why they cancel such a promising project instead of finding a way to get some money from it even if enabled in free edition.
